Volunteer Opportunities

Construction

Habitat for Humanity of Williamson and Maury Counties (HFHWM) builds new homes throughout Williamson and Maury Counties.

No experience is necessary; our trained Crew Leaders will provide education on the build site! But don’t worry, safety is our top priority. Check out our Safety Handbook to learn more.

If you are part of a group looking to get involved, please contact volunteer@hfhwm.org.

Age Limits: All volunteers on the work site must be 16 years old or older – no exceptions due to Federal Labor Laws. Volunteers 16-17 years old are allowed to participate in construction, but cannot get on the roof or operate power tools. They must have one adult supervisor over 21 per 4 youths.

Individuals needing to complete court-ordered community service cannot fulfill their hours on a job site. They are however welcome to volunteer in our ReStore.

Construction Crew Leaders
While our sponsors provide the majority of our workforce on the job sites, there is always a need for individual crew leaders. These volunteers assist our construction manager in leading volunteers, answering questions, and ensuring work is being done properly and safely.

Restore

When most people think about volunteering for Habitat for Humanity the image that comes to mind is one of the building houses. Sure, construction is the most visible part of our mission, but we have so many more ways individuals and groups can give of their time to HFHWM.  Serving at our ReStore is another way you can help.

We can use volunteers in several areas:

  • Load and unload merchandise
  • Assist with donation pickups
  • Assist with deconstruction projects
  • Clean and prepare merchandise for sale
  • Help maintain a clean store
  • Provide friendly customer service

The ReStore is an excellent environment to gain new skills and help HFHWM serve more local families. Volunteer hours at the ReStore are flexible and an excellent option for anyone looking to give back.

Office & Special Events

If you feel like your skills are more suited for the indoors, on occasion we will need volunteers to help us stay organized and ahead of the game at our office or at events. These tasks include filing, data entry, and organization. This is a great avenue to put in a few hours each week.

This committee works hand-in-hand with the homeowners and partners with individual families to help guide our new homeowners through a partnership with Habitat.
