Home for the Holidays

We were honored to celebrate the homecomings of Chasity and Heather’s families—just in time for the holidays.

Family, friends, and community members gathered in fellowship to mark the completion of these two homes. Maury County Mayor Sheila Butt joined the ceremony and shared her own testimony on the transformative power of safe, stable housing.

The celebration was full of joyful touches, including housewarming gifts, a ribbon cutting generously donated by Rose Hill Flowers, the presentation of mortgage certificates, and delicious cakes from Triple Crown Bakery.

Both women have made tremendous sacrifices to complete the requirements of our homeownership program. Despite many challenges, each completed 200 sweat equity hours, along with budget coaching and homebuyer education, and are now ready to embark on their journey as first-time homebuyers.

These milestones were made possible through the generosity of community sponsors, including Nissan, Community Health Systems, and the Westhaven Foundation, among many others.

Through a partnership with the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) and Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee, we also secured $23,250 in Housing Trust Fund support for each home.

“THDA is a vital partner in making homeownership attainable for more Tennesseans,” said Colleen Dudley, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee. “This grant is an investment in families who are working hard to achieve homeownership. It also strengthens local economies by fostering stability and growth, ensuring that communities continue to thrive.”

To everyone who swung a hammer, offered encouragement, donated materials, provided funding, or simply showed up to support—thank you. Your kindness, compassion, and belief in this mission helped turn two houses into homes filled with hope, joy, and new beginnings.
