Ghizelle W.

Ghizelle’s story is one of extraordinary resilience and unwavering determination. Born into a difficult and unstable environment, she experienced significant hardship from a young age. “At 15, I became homeless after years of childhood trauma, and I've spent much of my life overcoming the effects of abuse, instability, and survival mode. When I found out I was high-risk pregnant with twins, I knew I had to find a way out, not just for me, but most importantly for the twins I was carrying.”

For years, she faced immense challenges, but even in the midst of instability, she never lost her will to keep going. That turning point sparked a new chapter marked by resilience, healing, and purpose.

Today, Ghizelle works full-time as a case manager, using her lived experience to support others facing challenges similar to those she has overcome. She is also pursuing her Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) certification, continuing her commitment to serve her community in deeper ways.

“But even as I support others, my family lives in a small, poorly insulated apartment plagued by black mold… conditions that threaten my children's health and our peace of mind.”

Ghizelle is the proud mother of two-year-old twins, Gideon and Gia, who bring joy and light into her life each day. They love to play, explore, and spend time outdoors, simple moments that mean everything to their mom as she works to create a stable and nurturing environment.

With a strong faith and an unshakable commitment to her children, Ghizelle is ready for this next step. “It wouldn’t just be a roof over our heads, it would be proof that healing is possible,” she says. “It would mean safety, dignity, and a foundation where my children can grow up healthy and hopeful.”

She is eager to partner, to put in the work, and to build not just a house, but a foundation for a new beginning. “I’m ready to sweat for the keys,” she says, “and build a better future for my family.”
