Board Spotlight: Dave Rimkus
Introducing Dave Rimkus
Meet Dave Rimkus, Director of Supply Chain Decarbonization at Schneider Electric and a valued member of the HFHWM Board of Directors. Though he’s been serving on our board for just over a year, Dave brings more than 15 years of experience volunteering with Habitat across Middle Tennessee. With a passion for sustainability and community impact, Dave combines his professional expertise with a personal commitment to helping families build brighter futures. Through his work on our Construction Committee and beyond, Dave is helping drive innovation—and hope—into every home we build.

Q: How long have you been involved with HFHWM, and how has your involvement evolved?
A: “I have been involved with HFHWM for just over a year now as a board member, but I have been working with Habitat in the Greater Nashville area on and off over the past 15 years.”
Q: What inspired you to join the board of HFHWM?
A: “Great question, I think ultimately helping to enable positive impact for the community in middle Tennessee. And being employed at Schneider Electric can only help expedite the positive impact and remove barriers for the team to support families.”
Q: Do you serve on any HFHWM committees?
A: “Yes, I am also on the HFHWM Construction Committee.”
Q: What do you believe sets Habitat for Humanity apart from other nonprofits?
A: “The mission and vision of Habitat is something that has always resonated with me personally. Placing people in safe homes can foster generational growth.”
Q: What skills or expertise do you bring to the Habitat board, and how have they been most impactful?
A: “Schneider Electric has a far reach and deep array of products to help families maintain and improve their homes by making the most of their Energy. Also a background in Sustainability helps bring new innovative emission reduction ideas to home builds.”
Q: Can you share a memorable moment from your time volunteering on a Habitat build?
A: “One of my first builds in 2010 with the team at Nashville Habitat- it really opened my eyes to the mission and the impact of what Habitat is doing. You never really understand it until you are onsite for a build and or attend a dedication.”
Q: What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned from serving on the board?
A: “We are doing important and purposeful work for families to grow and prosper safely for themselves and future generations.”
Q: What motivates you to stay involved with Habitat and other organizations in our community?
A: “It is important to work, donate, and improve the community around you. Be an example and extrapolate those learnings regionally, nationally, and globally.”
Q: What message would you share with someone considering volunteering or donating to Habitat?
A: “Don't think about the ‘if’, take action and do it, you won't regret it. I also believe you can get deeply engaged at ANY point in your life. Don't let the opportunity pass you by, donate/volunteer your time to a phenomenal cause.”
